This is what happens when a sneaker enthusiast stumbles across convolutional neural networks. I wanted to make a tool that helps users identify cool sneakers they see in public, like Shazam does for songs.
This app, “Shoezam” (temporary title) uses the Xception CNN architecture to classify images across 15 different styles of Jordan and Adidas shoes, as well as images that are not a shoe. The concept can be extended to broader fashion categories, and extended with all kinds of bells and whistles to do things like pinpoint colorways, find the best prices on the shoe in question, and suggest similar styles.

You can just skip the yogurt if you want this to be vegan, or you could replace it with a vegan yogurt substitute (they’re usually soy or coconut milk based!)
